Patriot Act Needs to be Withdrawn Now

Thu Mar 08, 2007 at 06:38:14 AM PDT

The Patriot Act is my real fear for this country.

Once it is withdrawn, getting the troops home, setting the Katrina Victims right, Social medicine, all become easier to pass.

Until then, we are under seige by our own President.

After the fold is the best explaination I have found, in simple terms of the PatAct.

The Aging Baby Boomers are coming, The Aging Baby Boomers are coming!!

Mon Mar 05, 2007 at 09:34:52 PM PDT

As a true Baby Boomer I want to know what the Democrats are offering to me.  After all my focus, like every other Boomer, is changing.

Do I have enough money to retire? Do I have enough money to pay for my funeral? Go on vacation?

The good news: We're all living a lot longer.

The not-so-good news: The pension infrastructure and government entitlements were not designed to support so many people living so long. And then there's credit card debt, which he calls "an addiction of the generation."

"Our parents grew up, if you didn't have it, you didn't spend it," says Dychtwald. A third of all boomers, however, "haven't saved a thing."

There are days, he confesses, when he feels more like Don Quixote than Paul Revere.

Ken Dychtwald

Altruism is selfless concern for the welfare of others.

When I was really little my Uncle Leroy was the Alderman for our Ward, that is what the district was called then, in Wilmington De.

Not big politics but we were horribly impressed.  Uncle Le always appeared to be doing things for others.  He helped my mother get our first apartment; it was the second story of a row house, close to grand mom’s of course.  See my father died, I was 2, my sister 4 and my mother pregnant with my baby brother.  And well in 1960 a woman couldn't always rent a place on her own.  "A man would have to sign, see, you might not make it alone there missy, with all those kids and all."

So Uncle Le signed, and we got our first place, we shared the bathroom with the people on the third floor, but it was not in Grand mom’s house anymore, and Mother was so proud.  And Uncle Le, well he made it all possible.

It seemed Uncle Le was always doing for others, every time I turned around, feeding that family, clothing another, paying the rent, or buying coal (source of heat)

My grandfather called it Altruistic, that Uncle Le had been elected to represent he people of the Ward, and wanting that job, working for the job, meant uncle Le had to be better than most.

From CEO Land to Home

Sat Feb 24, 2007 at 08:11:22 PM PDT

I just got to read the blog A visit to CEO-Land, by On Puget SoundA visit to CEO-Land

I am not sure how to react to this.  Or what I should or should not say here.  In the Poll it says "This is less important than Iraq, global warming, or other issues, and I'd prefer to see less attention and energy spent on it."

How very wrong that statement is, how very wrong this whole situation is today.

UPDATE:  2/25/2007

Struck Names intentionally, was tired and should not have done that

This was my world for the past 6 years now.   A world of extravagance, and entitlement that can not be adequately described here by me.  I am not an eloquent writer, I just know what I know.

The life on that end of the financial spectrum is not what you think, not what you imagine. Having enough money to do anything you want, changes everything.  Literally everything.  Life as most American people know it, is completely and utterly miserable compares to the Upper Echelon.  Do they cook at home, and have children, yes.  Do they have problems like you, yes. They are human beings, there are just some distinct differences.

Cut Health Benefits to Pay for War

Sun Feb 18, 2007 at 04:45:14 AM PDT

I am not sure if this was previously written about, but as I read the page from the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, and the statements posted there in, I felt hopeless.

for now I am ok, My o2 supply is paid for by private insurance, but this is a quiet and deadly disease, and I will end up on Medicaid, or Medicare.

Then what?  Mr. President says I can have no more O2.  Genetic cleansing via Medicaid and Medicare payments, withhold payment for care, is that much better than what you accuse your enemies of?  Cleanising? Getting rid of the weak?  How this impacts at least me.......

Dictators Past and Present - GW Bush and Patterns of Abuse

Sat Feb 10, 2007 at 09:20:44 AM PDT

I didn't want to call this diary the begining of the new Holocaust.

I will admit it the neocons confuse me. Yesterday there were stories all over the place from Rove's statements about immigration and the separations between "them" and "us"

Rove: I Don't Want My Kid Picking Tomatoes  by RandyMI

At the same time they (the Republic)are talking amnesty out of one side of their faces I find this:

Family Prison  by Devilstower

I am confused, are they for or against the 10 million immigrants here illegally?.

So I went and investigated a little farther:  more.........

The Absolute LAST insult

Mon Feb 05, 2007 at 07:40:30 PM PDT

Today was the ultimate FUCK YOU to the American People:

The Constitution of the United States of America:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Today YOUR congressmen and women told you today, they have no respect for YOUR constitution.  How THEY the Republicans blocked the debate on the WAR for one and the Democrats did not over take them and MAKE the debate go on.  DO SOMETHING

WHAT are WE going to do?

Stand up for your country on International Workers' Day  MAY 1 2007

"For all those in Congress, be it the House or the Senate, and regardless of the risk or rewards that may be sought in the upcoming 2008 election season, take heed: these are the words that you should most fear. "

It is exteremely well written, and I am not a Highjacker.

We need to push for major changes, NOW.  We need to let our voices be heard in unison.

UPDATE:

Walk out of our work places at 3PM EST, 2 PM Central, 1PM Mountain, 12 Pacific
Walk out in unison to show we do NOT want to be in Iraq another DAY

Do not buy anything that day, we should stop the economy for one day if we can. NO gas, no bread and milk Nothing

Carry a Printed Copy of the Constiution with you if you can.

Carry a sign, that says NO MORE WAR, and GIVE BACK THE CAMPAIGN MONEY

Stay outside for (x) hours (need help on that one)

FEMA and the real Bush Administration

Wed Jan 31, 2007 at 03:34:45 AM PDT

For a few years I have been watching and listening to all this hulla baloo about this adminstration.  What you never seem to hear is what one diarist wrote about this morning, Political Appointees Running the Agencies that ARE the REAL government.

Political Appointees with no prior experience or knowledge of the agancy they are running, expressing day in and day out how grateful they are for the HIGH paying position they have been handed, and they're children, friends, relatives, etc etc etc.  giving BIG contracts to the Big 5 for Katrina, Even Bigger contracts for DHS Projects, and Leavingthe Big 5 with complete control over Agencies Infrastructure and Personnel.

This is a far from complete Diary, but WE the Kossacks need to focus on getting our country back, NOW

THE OTHER WAR: Drugs: Democrats: Jail and the Baby Boomers

Sun Jan 28, 2007 at 03:26:49 AM PDT

It is time we take a good hard look at our legal system.  And I am not talking about the lawsuit/lawyer epidemic.  I am talking about making criminals out of almost an entire generation of OUR children.  I say with the emphasis on illegalizing drugs, we turned our own children into criminals for repeating baby boomer behavior.  Smoke some pot, do a line, get away with it, but for the next generation?  Put the addicts in jail, leave the dealers on the street, and call it a War.
